Although this article was something that I do not know much about and I learned some things, I didn't like it. This article was extremely repetitive and had too many quotes. The same main idea was repeated over and over as if the reader had not learned it the first few times. I think that this story is definitely aimed at young girls who are interesting in music. Even more so at girl who would like to go into doing music as a job in their future. The purpose of this piece is to show that wanting to do music as a job is accomplishable. It shows Hopper as someone to look up to. Another purpose is to tell about her book The Girls Guide to Rocking. The article starts with the story of Hopper. it talks about how at the young age of 16 she fell in love with music. it also explains her book and what is in it; what it involves. It talks about how helpful this book will be for any types of aspiring musicians. I feel that the writers voice is pretty hopeful in the futures of so many young girls absolutely having the opportunity to succeed in what they would like to do. The sources of this article are mainly Hopper. All of the quotes are by her. the story mainly involves information about Hoppers past and her experiences. It includes her advice for young girls and what she did. The information came from Hopper. I don't feel like the journalist for this story did much research other than speaking with Hopper.
Hobbies: dancing, shopping, business, travel.
I think I would do a story on traveling. I travel a lot during the summer in Europe. I could do a story about different places. I could start with a memory from a trip I've been on and write about a country. I could research if professional websites recommend the place/country, what is said about it, etc.

Your Local Media
I read "Youth Petition calls for compromise" by Dustin Luca on the Townsman website. This article was about the impact that Work-To-Rule has on students in Andover, especially at the high school. Luca used Emily Brownholtz, a junior, as their main source of information. The quotes used were mainly by Brownholtz and from an online petition that she helped to start. This petition has about 233 signatures according to the article. The article partly explains what is happening with Work-To-Rule, but it mostly focuses on Brownholtz's opinion and the impact that is has on students at the high school according to her.
I think that this article sheds light on the issue in a successful manner for the most part. I definitely think that, although not intended, the article seems to have a bias. It makes Work-To-Rule seem like an awful thing and the only supporters that it mentions are the teachers. I think that having only Brownholtz and the petition as sources is not strong enough. I definetely think that both more and differing sources should have been used. A teacher absolutely should have been interviewed to have an oposing opinion to the strong arguement of the impact on students. I think that the title of the atricle is very appropriate to give the reader an idea of what the article will be about. I think that the article should have mentioned the struggle that the teachers are facing, not only the students.

Student News at AHS
The Warrior Weekly site is easy to follow and is layed out in an understandable way. Most of the stories published are worthy of reading as students and keep us in the flow of what happens in the school. Although these things are good, I think that it looks kind of boring. It lacks color and design. Most of the pictures posted are very good and interesting. I wish that the actual layout was more exciting even though it is simple. I really like the slides at the top of the page, as the most importnt stories seem to be posted there. The diferent sections with diferent stories is also helpful as to finding the type of story you would like to find out about. I think that people should be able to comment on the posts, it could make it a lot more interesting to hear what readers think. Diferent sides should be displayed, not just one of the student editors.
I think that the story abuot Work-To-Rule is very interesting and enlightening into what is going on with the teachers right now. It was interesting to read what some teachers had to say, quotes were helpful. It was also very interesting hearing how teachers have difering opinions on what is going on. I oved how photos were incorporated to show what we see every day.
